1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.
Psalm 15:1,5 O Lord, who shall sojourn in your tent? Who shall dwell on your holy hill? who does not put out his money at interest and does not take a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things shall never be moved.
Leviticus 19:10,13,15 And you shall not strip your vineyard bare, neither shall you gather the fallen grapes of your vineyard. You shall leave them for the poor and for the sojourner: I am the Lord your God. You shall not oppress your neighbor or rob him. The wages of a hired worker shall not remain with you all night until the morning. You shall do no injustice in court. You shall not be partial to the poor or defer to the great, but in righteousness shall you judge your neighbor.
Proverbs 19:17 Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.
Luke 12:33, 34 Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Luke 16: 9-13 And I tell you, make friends for yourselves by means of unrighteous wealth, so that when it fails they may receive you into the eternal dwellings. One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much. If then you have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth, who will entrust to you the true riches? And if you have not been faithful in that which is another's, who will give you that which is your own? No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.”
God expects His children to be faithful with the wealth they have - to use it for the service of God, to give generously, to give to Caesar his due, to deal justly with neighbors in matters of money, but to not love money or set one's heart to it as a treasure.
Since money has the power to buy several things one lust for, many have sought it mindlessly paying a high spiritual and relational cost. Let us pray that God changes the hearts of people leading this financial enterprise in our country, and draws them to Himself, thus helping all the needy.
Prayer points:
Pray for God's blessing and guidance on the five departments under the ministry of finance: The departments of expenditure, revenue, financial services, Investment and Public Asset Management, and Public Enterprises.
Pray that the expenses of the Government are transparent, responsible, honest, and without corruption. Pray that the Government policies and money reaches the right people completely.
Pray that the poor, and the common man wouldn't be taxed beyond what they can bear. Pray that the taxes are collected efficiently, and put to good use.
Pray that the banks work and invest wisely, such that they don't have to close. Pray that the pension schemes and the insurance schemes are well managed.
Pray that the ministers of Finance have a burden for the people they serve, listen to Godly counsel, and work with integrity.
